Teacher Leadership Council
Mission:
To promote the improvement of education for the students of
Regional School District #10 by empowering educators in
four professional areas: 1) advocacy, 2) communication, 3)
leadership, and 4) outreach.
Vision:
The Teacher Leadership Council exists to encourage
educators to become actively involved in the leadership and
advocacy of RSD10 Educators. The council facilitates greater
communication and understanding regarding state and local
educational policies and goals by providing opportunities for
teachers to communicate with each other, central office
administration, educational leaders, and representatives
from the communities we serve. Through this council
teachers will participate in professional discourse and be
empowered to influence district level decision making for the
benefit of our students.
Goals:
Advocacy - To increase professional awareness and provide encouragement for teachers in each school to lead.
Communication - To foster communication between schools and district stakeholders with a teacher voice and perspective.
Leadership - To promote and support teacher leadership within and beyond the school setting.
Outreach - To build relationships between school, district, and community partners.
Membership:
Interested teachers should complete the attached application and submit it to their building administrator for
endorsement. The Teacher Leadership Council is to be comprised of individuals that exhibit leadership qualities and
are interested in working collaboratively with district level
administrators and community members to improve
teaching and learning in Regional School District #10.
Annually, an invitation will be forwarded to the current and
previous year’s
