Coach Tieman has lifted the Lewis Mills Field Hockey program to regular contender status for both the Berkshire League and State Class S titles. Lewis Mills has won the past 5 Berkshire League championships and made Class S State Championship game appearances in 2003 (runner-up) and 2005 (Co-Champs). She is an exceptional teacher of the game and a strong role-model for young women. In addition to the noted team accomplishments, 15 Lewis Mills athletes have gone on to play field hockey in college (13 are currently playing)! Two have earned All-American status. In her time at Mills, Field Hockey has produced 20 All Star and All-State Athletes. In addition, Tieman was recognized as the 2006 Class S Coach of the Year. As a Wellness teacher at Lewis Mills, she also excells, being names the 2007 NASPE Eastern District Physical Education Teacher of the Year. In addition to her teaching and coaching success, Tieman is an accomplished college basketball official who currently works Division I games in the Northeast. As a player, Tieman was a 3-sport athlete at Litchfield High School, earning All-League & All-State honors in Field Hockey, Basketball and Softball. At the University of Vermont, she played four years of varsity softball, serving as Captain in 2000 & 2001. |
