Professional Development (PD) for Coaches
The Athletic Booster Club strongly supports the Lewis Mills Athletic Department Staff and in an effort to further extend that support, the following Professional Development fund has been established.
The Lewis Mills Athletic Booster Club will provide $1000 annually to pay for conference/clinic registration fees supporting professional development for Lewis Mills High School coaches. Any coach, paid or volunteer may apply for funds.
The following requirements apply:
1. Monies will be given for registration fees
only. A copy of the clinic/conference registration form must be provided prior
to payment being made. After being approved for the fee, coaches will be asked
to pay for and submit the registration form to the appropriate organization
and then submit a canceled check or credit card statement for reimbursement
to the Athletic Booster Club. The topic of the clinic/conference must be directly
associated with the sport coached by the individual at Lewis Mills.
2. Monies will be given to a maximum of two (2) coaches per team per year with
a cap of $200 each. In the event that more than two coaches apply, the head
coach will be asked to recommend which 2 coaches should be supported to attend.
3. To request funds, the coach should email the Coordinator of Athletics with
a CC to the Booster Club President with the request. The date of the email with
the CC will be the official date of request. The amount of the request may be
estimated, based on the previous year’s fee if it is not yet known. If
possible, please attach a copy of the registration form to the request. If this
is not possible, this form must be forwarded when it becomes available.
4. July 1st of each year will be the 1st date requests will be accepted for
the following PD year, which begins on September 1st and ends on August 31st
of the following year.
5. In the event that requests, as of August 31st, exceed the amount of money
available, preference will be given to salaried Lewis Mills coaches and then
to any other Lewis Mills coaches who have not used Booster Club Professional
Development funds in the previous year. After August 31st, preference will be
given on a first come, first serve basis.
