Region 10 has implemented Instant Alert to provide instant communication with parents

Log into Instant Alert (Contact your child’s school if you do not have a username.)

The Region 10 Board of Education has introduced the new InstantAlert system to allow for improved communication with our parents and staff. It was designed to provide information on a variety of topics, issues and emergencies faced by any school district. It is not the intention of the Board to “overuse” the system, but we want to keep parents and students involved of what is happening in the district. The majority of parents are pleased that they can be informed about school activities, in addition to emergency situations.

In the communication letter sent to you in early January to introduce the system, we made it clear that the system has the ability to communicate in five different areas:

High Importance
School Closings/Delays
Activities/Sports
General School Information
Transportation

Any parent has the ability to limit receiving communication to whichever topics they wish. Simply go to the instantalert.honeywell.com site, use your own password and click which messages you’d like to receive. Please refer to the sheet we sent you for additional directions or call Beth Provost at 673-2538 ext 1139 to receive another copy.

This is a new system and there are always unexpected outcomes to using a new system. We apologize for any inconvenience or distress, but we hope that you can be patient as we work through any difficulties. We will try to adjust the timing of school closing messages, but frankly students leave for some high school runs as early as 6:30am. In addition, some parents need time to arrange for child care as early as possible. Delaying calls until 9am is not feasible since high school students arrive by 7:25am, middle school arrive by 8:13am and elementary school by 9:05am. It is more than likely that messages for parents will go out by 6:15am on school closings or delays. If we try to stagger the calls, some parents would receive three calls and that is certainly unacceptable.
