I. Call To Order The Building Committee meeting was held at the Administrative Office, and was called to order at 7:15 pm by Chairman P. Omichinski. An onsite walk-through had preceded the meeting.
II. Approval of Minutes Due to lack of a quorum, minutes from the two prior meetings could not be approved.
III. Old Business · Project Status – K. Hunt distributed monthly cost control report and contractor change orders (for information, not approval). The major item in the cost control report is the savings of $43,130 originally allocated for propane use during the winter, which is no longer needed. That money has been re-allocated to asbestos abatement line item.
Flooring contractor has indicated a willingness to come in on weekends to complete work that cannot be done because other workers are also in the same areas.
Plumber has fallen behind and another contractor has been called in to provide additional assistance. Costs will be backcharged to Comfort Systems. K. Hunt has met with contractor repeatedly over the past several months and will be meeting with him tomorrow. Will seek to have fixures brought on-site for storage. It was suggested that payment for the most recent requisition not be made until fixtures and supplies have been transferred.
There are still issues with the electrical contractor. A meeting with C&H is scheduled for 3:00 pm on August 15, 2006. Some of the attendees will be D. Fortin, P. Omichinski, R. Sadecki, K. Hunt, B. Walpole, A. McIlveen, D. Lenihan and P. Schwartz.
P. Omichinski asked if the parking lot will be cleared and cleaned prior to school. D. Fortin stated this will occur the week before school starts. Project Status - The middle school cafeteria may not be fully functional when school starts. Although the food prep servery and cashier areas will be open, the middle school cafeteria space may not. Food may need to be delivered to students for a few days. Some of the custodial staff from the elementary schools will be temporarily assigned to the Har-Bur complex to assist with getting it ready for opening day. Some staff are slated to work over Labor Day weekend should the need arise. Next steps - Nothing discussed.
IV. Adjourn Meeting ended at 8:30 pm. Next Building Committee Meeting is scheduled for August 22, 2006 at 7:00 pm at Central Office.
