REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT 10

BUILDING COMMITTEE MEETING

July 25, 2006

Members Present:    Dave Fortin, Ron Sadecki, Paula Schwartz, Peter Turner

Absent:                     Dave Dickson, Durwin Jones, Dave Lenihan, Paul Omichinski, Lisa Sadler,

                                 Peter Surveski

  I. Call To Order

      The Building Committee meeting was held at the Administrative Office, and was called to order at 7:15 pm by P. Schwartz.

 II. Approval of Minutes

      Minutes from the July 11, 2006 meeting could not be approved due to lack of quorum. 

III. Old Business

·  Cost and schedule update and Project Status – P. Schwartz asked K. Hunt to provide a status update on all areas of the project.  Although work in most areas is either on schedule or not due to be worked on this year, the major area of concern is the middle school kitchen and cafeteria.  After much discussion, K. Hunt gave assurances that the middle school café and serveries will be fully functionally by the time school resumes.  Additional shifts may need to be added with back charges to contractors.

The middle school has main power, with branch power coming on line in a couple of weeks.  Hot water will be available next week.

Due to asbestos abatement, students will not be allowed into the building beyond the main office.  The middle school guidance offices are in the asbestos removal areas and counselors may have to use the main office area or the high school art rooms to meet with students prior to school opening.

·  Next steps – Members will meet next Wednesday morning to view and select bricks for front entrance.

A meeting may need to be held next week to review and approve invoices for payment.  P. Schwartz will inform members, via e-mail, when meeting is scheduled.

      Meeting ended at 8:00 pm.  Next regular Building Committee Meeting is scheduled for August 8, 2006 at 7:00 pm at Central Office.
