Mobile Notebook Cart Guidelines

+ To schedule usage go to room 110 and sign-up in the notebook.
+ The entire cart must be signed out per period.  Individual notebooks cannot be signed out.

Students (Instructions given by teachers)

- Sign your name on the sheet located in the cart, next to the corresponding notebook number

- Check the notebook immediately after taking it and notify the instructor of any problems

- No drinking or eating while using a notebook

- The user policy applies to the notebook.  Please refer to “Acceptable Use Agreement”

 

Teachers - In the classroom

1) Connect two Base Stations to distant data ports in the classroom.  These stations are at the bottom right of the cart.  Both data and power cables need to be connected. 

2) Before taking out a notebook, check the power cord is disconnected.

3) Count the students under your supervision and if possible, try to take out the same number of notebooks

4) While handing out notebooks, students should sign their names on the sheet found in the cart, next to the corresponding number. Verify the student’s name. 

5) Fill the top portion of the sheet and return it to the folder on the cart.

6) Lock the Mobile Cart after the notebooks have been taken.

7) Before the notebook is turned on, the wireless antenna should be extended (located on the left side), and should remain extended.  If the antenna is pushed in momentarily and connection is lost, wait for 2 minutes to refresh the connection.  If connection still unavailable, restart the notebook.

8) Batteries last around 2 hours.  The battery status appears on an icon on the bottom right corner of the desktop.  If they need to be replaced, please do so while the notebook is off. An extra set of batteries can be found in the cart (Charged Batteries slot).  Place discharged batteries in labeled slot.  

 

At the end of class

+ As notebooks are returned to the cart, pay special attention to the wireless card and battery

+ Notebooks should be returned to the same slot number in the cart

+ Notebooks can be left on during the day, but user should log off
