Senior To-Do List
September-October
- Attend Senior/Parent Breakfast on September 18th
- Register for SAT I or SAT II as needed (deadline for Nov. 3rd is Oct. 2nd)
- Send SAT scores to colleges directly from ETS if required
- Finalize the list of colleges you will apply to
- Visits, interviews, research
- College Fair October 25th
- Attend college rep visits
- Individual appointments with guidance counselor as needed
- Obtain applications and start filling them out (If you would like to use the Common Application, check www.commonapp.org to see which schools accept this application)
- Work on your resume and give a finalized copy to guidance counselor
- Request at least 2 letters of recommendation (see applications for specific requirements)- be sure to give each person a copy of your resume in advance
- Find out whether your colleges want the CSS Profile Form (financial aid) and file it if needed
- Early decision applications due (common date is November 1st)

October-December
- NCAA Clearinghouse forms should be filed for Division I and II athletes
- Finish college applications and essays- Proofread!
- Attend Financial Aid night with parents on December 13th
- College applications due in guidance by December 12th in order to be mailed before holiday break
- Pick up FAFSA form from guidance office and start working on it with your parents (Jan. 1st is first possible date to file)
- Obtain and work on scholarship applications- see bulletin board in guidance office
Spring
- Take ASVAB if planning to go into the service (March 14th)
- Final notification from colleges
- Send reply to all colleges (accept/decline admission)
- Inform guidance office of your final choice
- Send thank you notes to all who helped you and/or wrote recommendations
PLEASE BRING COMPLETED COLLEGE APPLICATIONS TO YOUR GUIDANCE COUNSELOR AT LEAST 10 DAYS BEFORE YOU WANT THEM MAILED- CHECK DEADLINES CAREFULLY!!!!
