  • October 21 – Take PSAT
  • October 26 – College Fair at LSM
  • Meet with Counselor in small groups to discuss post-high school planning and learn about resumes
November 14 – College Night at LSM

  • Begin to clarify your educational goals, needs, and preferences
  • Use PSAT results to develop range of colleges
  • Talk with graduates home from college
  • December 14 – Financial Aid Night, 7:00 p.m.
  • Prepare for midterms.  Junior grades are very important.
  • Complete college search and review results with Guidance Counselor\
  • Plan college visits
  • Consider taking SAT Prep class
  • Develop a preliminary list of colleges
  • Visit colleges during February vacation
  • Write, call, or email for catalogs and applications

  • Read catalogs and viewbooks
  • Review personal college criteria
  • Attend National College Fair at Hartford Expo Center
  • March 16 – take ASVAB if interested in the military
  • Visit colleges during April vacation
  • Complete another college search and discuss results with Counselor
  • Athletes – register with NCAA
  • Identify teachers whom you may ask for recommendations
  • AP Exams
  • May 5 - SAT I/II offered at LSM

Summer
  • June 2 - SAT I/II not offered at LSM
  • Arrange for college visits and/or interviews for the summer
  • Review SAT material
  • Compile resume/list of activities, jobs, and community service
  • Earn $ in a job related to career interest
