Meeting called to order and minutes read

No Changes to minutes. Stand approved.  Patty Onofrio motioned.  Kathleen Keegan seconded.

 

Principal’s Report – Maureen Dodd

Karen Czerwinski had her baby on March 17th

Conferences will be next week.

April 1st is family gym night.

April 2nd is Kindergarten Orientation – Kindergarten classes for next year are running higher this year (89 to date).

 

President’s Report – Liz Cornish

Box Tops - $1068.80 to date

Target $150 – goes to student activity fund

 

Treasurer’s Report – Janet Gaudiana

On track and on budget

 

Committee Reports

 

Enrichment – Linda Surveski

 

Magician was here on Monday

Grade 4 had CT History Museum

4/1 – Charlotte’s Web

4/10 – 3rd grade to Bristol HS for Nutmeg Symphony

4/23 – 4th grade going to Hartford Symphony at Warner Theater

6/6 – Joseph Firecrow will be here to give all school performance.

 

Next year Linda will not chair the Enrichment program, looking for someone to take this over.

           

Spring Book Fair –  Kathleen Keegan

Book Fair will run March 25th – 28th, fair will be open during Teacher Conferences

Raffles for students

Joy Marino is looking for points for next year’s prizes for I Love To Read Month. 

Dinner Auction – donate a basket of books for auction

Library – we will give Amy Parks points

“Build a Book” – Do we want to offer this to 2nd or 3rd grade?  Have it after school.  $6.50 per pack.  Table it to next year.

 

Fourth Grade Activities – Michelle Huydic

On the right track.

 

 

Box Tops – Liz Cornish

Notice went home with website to win money.

 

 

Learning Fair – Anne DiSorbo

Was a huge success.

 

New Business

 

·      Deb Kissh and Denise Genest, parent group from Har-Bur for 5th grade.  Sponsored a 5th grade social and it was a huge success.  Began in Jan. and were able to pay for Chemtech, revolutionary war soldier, colonial magician.  Committee is coming up with poetry and art night on April 24th.  This will be in a “Coffee House” atmosphere.

·      Managed to raise $2500.

·      They need new parents for next year

·      New Business

 

·      Need volunteers for Kindergarten Orientation on April 2nd.

·      Need committee chairs for next year.  Enrichment is the biggest one to fill.

·      Pat Hooper needs dictionary.  Maureen Dodd will handle this.

 

     Old Business

 

·      Pictures are still going on with Litchfield Hills Photography. 

o      May 16th Silent Auction – working on different auction items (week’s vacation rental, classroom baskets, etc.)

o      Health Fair last Wednesday.  Not a lot of people came through.

 

 

Popcorn Party was won by Mrs. Garry, Mrs. Carr, Mrs. Hawks, Mrs. Murr, Mrs. Janowski, and Mrs. Czerwinski’s classes for most parents in attendance at tonight’s PTA meeting!
