Spanish 6th Grade

 

Course Description
This course continues to strengthen the language skills (listening and speaking) developed in the 4th and 5th grade Spanish program and to further develop students' reading and writing skills. The course meets twice in the rotation for language instruction and once for a Social Studies/Spanish lesson.

 

Student Expectations

What will the students know and be able to do as a result of successfully completing this course?:
Students will be prepared for the 7th grade World Language program. They will understand that every language has its own sound and symbol system, and that they must practice and do homework to master another language. Students will develop the basic skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening. Students will begin to make connections between their own and other cultures.


Multiple Forms of Assessment

Students will be graded on class participation, homework, dialogs, tests, quizzes, and a variety of other activities that address the four basic skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening.

Learning Activities


Students will participate in paired activities, group work, projects, musical performances, illustrations.


Integration of Technology

Students will do a Webquest activity and work in the computer lab.


Resources

Handouts will be given. We will use Paso a Paso in class occasionally.
