Learning Lab will be held 6 days out of the 8 day
rotation. It provides an
opportunity:
- To improve organizational skills
- For each student to discover his/her learning
style
- To learn how to best use that learning style to
maximize performance
- To review key concepts presented in content
classes
- To receive re-teaching of problematic concepts
- To improve the mechanics of writing
- To improve style of writing
- To increase reading comprehension and reading
fluency through various strategies
- To broaden one’s knowledge base through
use of analogies, vocabulary building and word roots
- To work individually or in cooperative pairs or
small group
As our students move toward their high school years, the focus is on knowing oneself and advocating for oneself while taking pride in PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, which will help them make a good transition to the high school. The grade for Learning Lab is based on participation and work completion.
