Dominican Republic Baseball Project Back To Har-Bur Main Page

Closure For The Dominican Republic Baseball Project! Students in Mrs. Szykowny's Spanish classes were treated to a special guest speaker on May 1st.  Delfia Salazar, originally from the Dominican Republic, came to the classes to answer the students' many questions about life in the Caribbean. The students spoke only in Spanish and they all were able to get their message across quite clearly to this native speaker!
	In addition, Delfia shared a photo slide presentation of her recent trip to the island.  She graciously served as the liason between Har-Bur students and the young Domincan baseball players who received all of the many donated baseball items.  Over 500 pieces of equipment and money, were donated by generous    Har-Bur families and the Burlington Little League.  It was wonderful to see the pictures of the happy children holding their "new" equipment.  Har Bur students appreciated the stories that Delfia had to tell about these grateful young people. It was a homerun for everyone involved!
